What does a Retrofit Assessment involve?
Retrofitting a property involves making energy efficiency improvements to an existing building. This can include upgrading insulation, replacing heating systems, and installing renewable energy systems like solar panels. The goal is to make the property more energy-efficient, comfortable, and better suited to modern standards.
Retrofitting is essential for homeowners, businesses, and public organisations to lower energy bills, improve indoor air quality, and reduce environmental impact. It is a practical answer to the challenge of retrofitting an old building with modern systems and insulation.
Booking Disclaimer
If you are booked in for an EPC and your property has any hidden insulation (such as underfloor or loft insulation) or renewables (such as solar PV or thermal, biomass boilers, air or ground source heat pumps) then it is important to let us know prior to the survey date, failure to do so will result in them not being included on the EPC, which may affect your rating. Additionally, if you have any documentation on any lighting design/specification or HVAC system (Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning) then please provide this at the same time.
*these are just examples of the most common renewables and insulation, there are many other types that we will also need to be informed about.
